A phobia is an extreme fear of an object, person, animal, activity, place, feeling or situation. Having a phobia is more than just being afraid of something; it is a type of anxiety disorder. It is completely natural to be frightened or scared, but we don't think about that thing that frightens us all the time, however someone that has a phobia may feel anxious just thinking or talking about their fear. This can have a real impact on their day-to-day life, and the decisions they make.
